Email Jokes: A Snapshot Anthology of the Internet

This pocketbook, intended to serve as light coffee table conversation for naval gazers, offers a passing glimpse at the emerging historical confluence of society and the internet.  It is also intended to be a humorous keepsake for those of us who experienced the internet’s revolutionary contribution to how we communicate.

The focus of this “coffee table pocketbook” is the approximate time period of 1996 – 2006. The introductory portion of the book provides a launch pad for group discussions about how society transitioned into e-mail usage as an every day means of communication.  The balance of the book provides selected “keepsake jokes” that will help us reflect – in later years – upon this period of our social e-history.

This book provides readers a chance to laugh all over again at the jokes that had us chucking the first time around.  Great gift for birthdays, holidays, you name it!  Printed in North America.

Comments

It’s important to document history as we live it. Certainly the internet and e-mail have changed the way we communicate as a society.

Speaking from a generation that grew up without computers – let alone the internet – this pocketbook is a humorous reminder of one of the milestones for my generation. This book will remain on my bookshelf.

This book will keep your attention and you won't put it down. You will be sharing it with your friends and family. It's a keeper. In loving memory of our dear brother, John Burkhardt who was an avid e-mailer which gave him company and cheer in his invalid years.

As an aspiring nursing student, I've spent many hours on-line reading medical journals, writing papers and participating in study group activities. It is a real stress breaker when I can pause for a moment to read a little e-mail humor and trivia.

“For 1000s of years people have told close friends jokes – that are quickly forgotten. Computers, the Internet and email have led to jokes and humorous anecdotes crossing the world – but most were deleted. This collection reminded me of some of the funniest from the early days of email – and many still have a grain of truth, whether you are a manager, worker, teacher, parent, child, cat or dog lover”
